Grand Opening - Saturday 6th October
On Saturday 6th October 2007, the official public opening of the new King's Mile shopping district takes place starting at 9.00am, right through until 10.30pm in the evening.
The event marks the end of the redevelopment of the area which has taken over 6 months to complete, at a cost of over £700,000, which was funded by the Canterbury City Council. The transformation is staggering, having given the area a much needed new lease of life and injected a real sense of uniqueness to the area.
The Grand Opening will be a collaboration of the local shops and businesses, bringing their trade out onto the streets of The King's Mile, complimented by live entertainment, street fayre and celebration. The event marks a culmination of the past year, having waited for the redevelopment to complete.
